Malawi Alimajo Standard Size

This is a lot of agate rough stones from the Alimajo site in southern Malawi.
The agates are mostly small but have some of the brightest colors found throughout the entire mining region.
Additionally, most pieces are free of cracks!

The stones shown in the photos are example images of these stones. The exact stones depicted can also be part of one of these 1kg lots.

Most of these rough stones are complete, and it is often difficult to assess the quality from the outside.

In one kilogram of these agates, there are about 30-40 rough stones, depending on size. Alimajo typically measures about 2.5-4cm

Those who can cut the agates by hand have an advantage, as it saves time.
However, in the past, I have mostly used a machine, as it makes the cut a bit more precise.

Larger quantities are also available upon request.

The last agate shown is one of the best from this site that I have personally cut. It measures 32mm.
The image serves as a reference to show that it is indeed possible to cut agates of museum quality from these rough stones.

Rough stones are always a gamble. Sometimes they look bad and turn out nice and sometimes they look nice and turn out bad. Be aware of this risk! With polished agates you know excatly what you will be getting, so please check out all my polished agate specimens as well. :)
