This is a lot of agate rough stones from the Alimajo site in southern Malawi.
The agates are mostly small but have some of the brightest colors found throughout the entire mining region.
Additionally, most pieces are free of cracks!
The stones shown in the photos are example images of these stones. The exact stones depicted can also be part of one of these 1kg lots.
Most of these rough stones are complete, and it is often difficult to assess the quality from the outside.
In one kilogram of these agates, there are about 30-40 rough stones, depending on size. Alimajo typically measures about 2.5-4cm
Those who can cut the agates by hand have an advantage, as it saves time.
However, in the past, I have mostly used a machine, as it makes the cut a bit more precise.
Larger quantities are also available upon request.
The last agate shown is one of the best from this site that I have personally cut. It measures 32mm.
The image serves as a reference to show that it is indeed possible to cut agates of museum quality from these rough stones.

Rough stones are always a gamble. Sometimes they look bad and turn out nice and sometimes they look nice and turn out bad. Be aware of this risk! With polished agates you know excatly what you will be getting, so please check out all my polished agate specimens as well. :)

Delivery Times
The delivery time is determined by the item with the longest delivery time that you have ordered. Generally, delivery within Germany takes place within 2-3 business days. The delivery time to foreign countries is 2 - 30 days. Please note that there is no delivery on Sundays and public holidays.

Our current promotions are always displayed at the very top of our homepage. At the moment, we offer the following quantity discounts:
- Buy 5 or more polished agates and receive 10% off.
- Buy 10 or more polished agates and receive 20% off.
These discounts apply exclusively to polished agates and are automatically applied in your shopping cart once the required quantity has been reached.
Is my payment with Agatebay secure?
Yes. Your payment is fully secure with us. We work with Shopify Payments and PayPal, two of the world's most trusted payment providers. Both use SSL encryption to protect your payment information. We also offer Klarna as a payment option. Klarna is a trusted provider for invoice payments and offers additional flexibility and security when completing your purchase.

Where does Agatebay ship from?
We currently ship from Dresden, Germany. From January 2027, orders for customers in the United States may also be shipped from Tucson, USA.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide, with the exception of Russia.
Which shipping carriers does Agatebay use?
DHL, FedEx and Deutsche Post.
How long does delivery take?
- Germany: 2–3 days
- Europe: 5–10 days
- USA: 7–21 days
- International: 7–21 days
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs depend on the shipping carrier and destination country. Shipping costs are paid by the customer. Approximate shipping rates are:
- Germany: €4.90 (DHL)
- Europe: €9.90 (DHL)
- USA: €19.90 (FedEx)
- International (outside Europe/USA): €24.90 (FedEx)
Are customs duties included?
No. Any customs duties, import taxes, or other charges imposed by the destination country are the responsibility of the customer.
USA: Why are there additional customs and FedEx fees?
Due to US customs regulations, additional customs duties, import taxes, and FedEx fees may apply. These costs are the responsibility of the customer. If you have questions, we recommend checking the applicable US customs regulations or contacting us at info@agatebay.de. From January 2027, we will also operate directly from the United States, making shipping for US customers easier.
