Seltene Achate von La Manea aus Patagonien. (:

Rare agates from Patagonia!

Dear collectors and friends of agates,

This week I am taking you virtually to Patagonia in Argentina. Patagonia doesn’t just have wonderful natural landscape, but also beautifully banded Agates!

The location La Manea is probably a term which is known to many of you, but only very rarely do you still get to see them.

The agates from this locale typically look more like Condor agates which are found in a more northern area of Argentina, and look less like neighboring locations in Patagonia.

This location produces very typical indications, which generally make them relatively easy to recognize.

One of the biggest indications is the very commonly appearing sedimentation of material at the bottom of most nodules.

Almost all colors can appear, as well as some great parallax in rare cases, and chromatography, which sometimes make them look like Condor agates.

In any case, they are exciting pieces to see and cut, of a much less known area in Argentina.

This week on my YouTube channel, you can watch me cut 6 pairs from this rare location. On my website you can find these exact pieces from the video and two more absolutely outstanding Argentinean agate specimens.

A condor agate with an absolutely perfect standing calcite crystal in the druzy center opening, and one of the best agates from the location Berwyn I have ever seen. It is super colorful for this location, while most others appear rather pale in their pastel colorization. This one holds a punch! It is an ex. Peter Jeckel collection piece!

If you wanna cut your own La Manea agates, they will be available for purchase at the new Agatebay store location at the Tucson Showplace during the Tucson show.

I only have a few buckets left of this material.

Enjoy the new agates and wish you all a great weekend,

Joshua
