Dear lovers of fine agates,
Malawi agates have a tremendous variety in colors, and became fan favorite for the best affordable cutting material on the market right now!
Agates from the 1970ies locale are some of the largest pieces that could be found in Malawi. This material unfortunately becomes increasingly more rare to find, since all the layers close to the surface have been exploited, and the host rock these agates formed in, is very hard. Extraction by hand is very time consuming and bound to higher costs, compared to mining in levels closer to the surface.
The past few years only yielded small amounts of a few hundred pounds from this locale each year!
While these agates are great for their size, they also tend to have more fractures than neighbouring locations. On my Website you can find some wonderful new specimens from different locations in Malawi, as well as all of the fresh cut pieces from this week's YouTube video about this location.
As the Munich show is approaching, this sunday on the 20th of october I am doing a Pre Munich Live Sale on Facebook. I will show you some of the best pieces I am taking to the show next week!
I will be accompanied by Max (Quartzkopf). He is a German Youtuber who is interviewing me about the rock world of Germany, and will be part of this show. So make sure to tune in and see what beautiful pieces I have been sourcing this year!
In Munich itself I will be at the same location like last year. Booth #A6.512.
Find me there to pick up one of the new Agatebay Calendars!
Send me an email if you have any questions. :)
See you all very soon and wísh you a great weekend,
Joshua
