Ich gebe Achaten eine 2. Chance.

Giving agates a second chance!

Dear collectors of fine agate!

One of my most favorite things is not just cutting, but specifically recutting and trying to get the most potential out of every single stone!

So in this week's video on YouTube you can see me try my best to make flawed specimens a little more perfect and easier to sell.

Often flaws like fractures or broken faces make a stone much less valuable than nice banding makes a piece valuable, and that is often not just objective beauty, but also the aspect of how much easier it is to sell an unflawed specimen. Especially when it gets to a little higher price range. In other words, a nicely banded fractured and broken piece will be much less worth than a unflawed specimen with lesser banding and colors.

I hope you enjoy watching me try to get the best out of these specimens, and you’ll find more fantastic new pieces you like on my website as well.

The Sumatra agate is an old stock piece that’s been in my collection for close to a decade and is also printed in the 2025 AGATEBAY Calendar. On top of that you’ll find two new specimens from the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, and two old-stock Middle Class Mine agates from China.

Wishing you a great weekend,

Joshua
