Calandria agates + Luban Show
Share
Dear collectors of Mexican agates,
You all still seems to love Mexican agates, so this week I am showing you specimens from a little less known locality which is just becoming a little more known again.
Compared to other Mexican agates, Calandria agates are far behind the quality of other localities, but they are much more affordable, and can be a lot of fun to cut for a change.
Once in a while you get rewarded with some soft purple colors, but most of the time, the banding only consists of white dotted banding.
In this week's YouTube video, you can see how I am cutting a batch of them and take you with me through my thought process of cutting them.
One pair was interesting enough for me to get polished and sell it individually with the beautiful dotted banding. The other 5 pairs are available for a super affordable price altogether.
I stocked up my website with other beautiful specimens from the localities Purple Passion, Moctezuma, El Sueco, Agua Nueva und Loma Pinta which are now freshly available for the first time.
If you are in Europe right now, you can watch a real highlight. For the first time this weekend, in Luban in Poland, agates from the famous Dietrich Mayer collection are becoming available by Spirifier. For now, it’s only the German part of his collection, but beautiful international agates and gorgeous affordable rough stones can be found at the Agatebay booth which is being supervised by Grzegorz.
Hope you all have a great weekend and a lot of fun,
Joshua & Agatebay-Team
