Achate aus den USA

Agates born in the US

Dear collectors of American agates,

The time has come to put some of the most controversial agates in the hobby into my Stonemaster saw: Lake Superior agates!

These agates probably boast one of the largest and most dedicated collecting communities in the entire world, yet they are hardly ever get cut. Shaped and tumbled by secondary deposition and glacial movement from up north, they all feature a beautiful, naturally smoothened, and rounded exterior that often exposes gorgeous banding. Because of these natural "windows," finding pieces that yield a completely enclosed, full-face pattern when cut is rare. While the vast majority of Lake Superior agates are relatively small, I focused on cutting some of the highly valuable "big boys" in the 3-inch range for today's video. They turned out absolutely beautiful and are available right now on our website!

Alongside them, you will also find newly listed, similarly shaped agates from the "Island," which have always been one of our hottest sellers whenever they become available.

For those who want to try their own luck at the saw, we also have a few remaining rough lots of these Island agates left in stock on the site.In addition to these two fantastic types, we have also updated the website with more wonderful specimens from various other US localities as well as Argentina!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Joshua & the Agatebay Team
